This article explains Oracle Database 11g Release 2 installation steps.
First of all, download the Oracle Database software from the following location :

Login to the server as oracle user
Unzip the software downloaded to a temporary location and start the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) by executing the below command in terminal window.
Execute ./runinstaller command
In the Configure Security Updates page will be displayed. Provide your email address if you want to get security updates . Otherwise do not select the check box and click on Next .
If you have not provided the email address , ignore the warning in the next screen . Click Yes to continue.
In the Download Security Updates page, select skip software updates and click on Next
In the Installation Options page , Select Create and Configure a database. Click on Next to continue
In the System Class page , select Server Class as we are installing the database on a Server . Click on Next to continue.
In the Installation Type page, select Single instance database installation . Click on Next to continue
In the Product Languages pages page select English . Click on Next to continue
In the Database Edition page, Select Enterprise Edition .Click on Next to continue
In the Installation Location page, Select the path to place all Oracle Software and configuration files . Enter the values for Oracle Base and Software Location . Click on Next to continue
In the Configuration Type page , Select General Purpose/Transaction Processing . Click on Next to continue
In the Database Identifiers page, Select enter Global database name and Oracle Service Identifier (SID) . Click on Next to continue
In the Configuration Options-> Memory tab, update the default values if required .
In the Configuration Options-> Character Sets tab, Select User Unicode option .Click on Next to continue
In the Management Options page , Select Use Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control for database management . Click on Next to continue
In the Database Storage Options page , Select File System and enter the path for database file location .
In the Backup and Recovery page Select the appropriate option . Select Do not enable automatic updates if you do not want automatic updates. Click on Next to continue
In the Schema Passwords page , Select appropriate option to and specify the passwords for schema accounts . Click on Next to continue
In the Privileged Operating System Groups page , select appropriate option and click on Next to continue
In the Perform Prerequisite checks page , Wait for the checks to complete . Click on Next to continue
In the next page , make sure that there are no errors and all the prerequisites are completed .
In the Summary page , verify the details and Save the Response File if required. Click on Install for Oracle database 11g Release 2 installation.
The Install Product page , Installation status will be displayed. This will take some time to complete.
In the Database Configuration page . Click OK to continue
In the Execute Configuration scripts page, it will ask you to execute the root.sh scripts . Login to the server as root user and navigate to the location of root.sh file and execute the script .
After Executing the script click OK to continue.
In the Finish page , the installation status will be displayed. You can access the Enterprise Manager Database Control URL displayed in the Finish page.
Click on Close. Oracle database 11g Release 2 Installation is completed now.
